ABOUT
BFEDU is an Italian organisation based in Jolanda di Savoia, specialising in applied research in sustainable crop management, precision agriculture, and soil health monitoring. With access to open-field labs and advanced imaging technologies, including PET/MRI for plant-soil interactions, BFEDU brings a multidisciplinary approach to developing climate-resilient farming systems.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT
In RUNFASTER4EU, BFEDU supports the large-scale cultivation and monitoring of low-ILUC-risk oil crops under Work Package 2. Their contribution focuses on optimising agronomic practices, enhancing yield and biodiversity, and supporting soil carbon storage. BFEDU also contributes to training, business modelling, and the formulation of stakeholder recommendations, helping translate scientific insights into real-world applications for sustainable agriculture.
