Objectives
- Demonstrate at large scale the cultivation of low-risk-ILUC oil crops in marginal/fragile lands through the implementation of sustainable agronomic protocols.
- Demonstrate the full biomass valorisation with a circular biomass approach.
- Demonstrate replicability of the selected crops in Mediterranean and contaminated areas.
- Assess the enhancement of soil health, biodiversity and organic matter dynamics.

WORK PACKAGE 3:
UPGRADED BIOREFINERIES AND (BIO)PROCESSES
Objectives
• Develop, scale-up and optimize at flagship scale the chemical and biological processes for conversion of all the components of oleaginous biomass into the targeted biobased building blocks and bioproducts with a cascading approach.
• Demonstrate the biobased production from vegetable oils up to 20,000 t/yr.
• Validate the feasibility to convert up to 600 t/yr of defatted meal into proteins and soluble fibres.
WORK PACKAGE 4: DEMONSTRATION OF THE PRODUCTION OF BIOBASED INTERMEDIATES AND BIOPOLYMERS
Objectives
• Conversion of vegetable oils into pelargonic acid and AZA, intermediates (pelargonates) and polymers (NIPUs, polyesters), and formulation for dielectric fluids.
• Conversion of 2G sugars and vegetable oils into biosurfactants.
• Conversion of defatted meal in hydrolysed proteins for biostimulants and in soluble fibres.

WORK PACKAGE 5:
TAILOR MADE PRODUCTS, FORMULATIONS AND REPLICATION
Objectives
- Develop biobased high performing, hi-value marketable products meeting final application requirements for cosmetics, agro-products, plasticulture, dielectric fluids, vertical gardens, feed applications.
- Address any regulatory bottlenecks or related issues relevant to the targeted end market(s), ensuring compatibility in the perspective of potential future scale-up.

ASSESSMENT OF SUSTAINABILITY OF THE PRODUCTS & CIRCULARITY OF THE VALUE CHAIN
Objectives
- Assess the Life Cycle Sustainability of RUNFASTER4EU bio-based materials.
- Improve the processes’ circularity.
- Evaluate the direct land use change impacts on ecosystem services.
- Maximize the socioeconomic balance including the environmental externalities.
- Integrate SSbD assessment into the RUNFASTER4EU concept.

Objectives
- Elaborate strategies and tools to communicate and disseminate the project results to a wide user community.
- Ensure stakeholders’ engagement by means of a robust communication campaign.
- Define and realise the IPR and exploitation strategy as well as the replication plan.
- Perform a market analysis, define a go-to-market strategy and business plan.
